Since we are quite civilized and even colonized the mars, war was not an issue for genarations. But humans are greedy and the opportunities to get money and power on mars are overwhelming.
To avoid a devastating fight between the landlords and settlers everybody agreed to fight in an controlled envirnoment: the arena.
The arena is a place where people from mars can fight out their discrepancies. Two go in, one comes out!
This could be the basis for a PvP mechanic, providing an opportunity to PvP for those who are interested, while others might just be the audience. Arena combat is performed by specialized robots that must be made separately (costs CLNY), and the winner is rewarded (with CLNY). The robots can be upgraded with various equipment, armor and weapons. To determine the winner of the battles, there could be a simple set of rules like d20 (Dungons&Dragons). This would guarantee that you have to invest in the fighting robots, but with a bit of luck you can win even though the fighting robots are inferior.
Spectators may have to pay admission (with CLNY) to see the fight.
Yeah and there are lots of people that don’t want to PvP because its to time consuming or to stressful. I think that it should be up to the players to decide if they want to do it or not.
What an awesome idea of the optional PvP! It could also be alliance vs alliance and the spectators can gamble on the outcome. Mars is going to be a sin city

And yeah, alliance vs alliance is cool! Maybe there could be an alliance battle robot group where everyone in that alliance has to join. And when people start gambling, there will be fans rooting for the team, like in ice hockey teams.
Advertising sponsors can come to the arena where pvp will be held. The activities of the spectators and actors will actually lead to the formation of an ecosystem.
